Alicia “Ali” Beck (pronounced Ah-Lee) is a Dominican and African American producer, director, writer and U.S. Navy veteran dedicated to telling bold, emotionally resonant stories that center underrepresented voices and foster empathy within American society. She is the founder of Fôlsheart Productions, a film company launched in 2018 to create work that disrupts, uplifts, and heals.
Ali began her creative journey after serving in the U.S. Navy. While operating Fôlsheart Productions, she earned her BFA in Filmmaking from the New York Film Academy, graduating summa cum laude and delivering the commencement address for her class. A recent MFA graduate and Producing Fellow of the American Film Institute Conservatory, she refined her creative voice and sharpened her leadership as a filmmaker and industry professional.
A proud member of the Producers Guild of America, Ali has produced, directed, and written feature films, short-form content, and campaigns for nonprofit organizations and businesses across the U.S. Her work is anchored in emotional truth, social impact, and courageous storytelling—with a commitment to building spaces, both on set and on screen, where people feel seen.
In 2025, her short film Colored White was invited to screen in the Cannes Court Métrage – Short Film Corner | Rendez-vous Industry, an official program of the festival de Cannes, and was subsequently selected for the 51st FILMETS Badalona Film Festival, one of Europe’s most prestigious short film festivals.
Ali is focused on long-term sustainability and meaningful collaboration—driven not just by the stories she tells, but by the way she brings people together to tell them.
